Kita response 14-16 question 2

After the book reaches its climax with the death of Katies sister Lynn, Katie begins a new way of life. For the memory of her sister she makes her an altar and thinks about what Lynn would have liked her to do know if she would habe been alive. Her sisters wishes for her had been: work hard, go to collage. So now with the full reality of how much she had lost she tries to get A's and good grades in school, because there might be the small and if so faint possibility that Lynn was watching her and Katie wanted to make her happy.

Kira blog response question number 1

As Lynn gets more and more sick, her demands also go up. Lynns and Katies relationship is greatly affected by this. Katie gets more and more desperate the more Lynn grows sick, and she gets angry and frustrated that Lynn will not recover . She (also she is not (probably)aware of this) would like Lynn to be better again and wishes for the old times to return. The peak of this anger is finally when Lynn wakes Katie in the middle of the night (Katie is mildly annoyed) and demands a glass of water. After Katie gets her one, Lynn demands milk (Katie is annoyed even more) and than throws the glass on the floor rug and shatters the glass(Katie gets even more annoed because she will have to clean the rug and buy a new glass). After getting Lynn a glass of Milk ,Lynn throws this to the prier glass on the floor because "There is soap on the glass".Katie is now ready to burst. Lynn topps it by now demanding a glass of water (again). Katie denies her anything now and tells Lynn she hates her. After this incident Katie becomes aware of herself again and is nice to Lynn however now (could this be related???) Lynns health decreases day by day.

Fact about the Masai

The Masai , a nomadic tribe from Africa has many different and interesting costumes and traditions. One of the most important facts is that they are loosing the habitat they live in. Tanzania and Kenia are being colonised and since they are a nomadic tribe they need to move around to keep there animals alive (water and food are not everywhere). However this is becoming more and more dffucult for them and the ways and customes of them are under threat. Some Masai have already given up and joined the city life.
